Soup is a hug in a bowl

Chicken and veg soup made using stock from the Easter Monday lunch chicken, the bits of chicken that came off the carcasss after it had been in the slo cooker to make the stock, some of the 8p carrots left over from that lunch, the last bit of broccoli from a 4p stalk, a large potato that was starting to sprout, and some pearl barley.
It was absolutely delicious, and just what I needed on another busy Wednesday.

I call that almost free food. That was how I looked at brunch leftovers as didn't plan to have any, and pizza tonight with this and that toppings.

ReplyDeleteIt's been cool here, but has now warmed up. I like soup whatever tge weather really.
DeleteYes it's soup weather here again too, I've made soup a couple of times in the past few days using the cheap Easter veggies.
ReplyDeleteI got a big cauliflower free at Lidl, so will make a curried soup with it this week.
