... at the age of 55, I was diagnosed with small vessel disease in my brain. It goes along with the small vessel disease in my heart that was diagnosed when I was 43.
Added to the arthritis, the bulging disc in my neck, the probable autism, the atypical anorexia nervosa, the high blood pressure that losing 7 stones didn't change, the ME/CFS, looking after our little one, and my mum, I've got more than enough to contend with.
It's the 30th anniversary of my dad's death this month, and 3 days later it's my 60th birthday.
I can't change the damage that's already been done, but small vessel disease in the brain is linked to dementia and stroke, and last year I was sent to the fast track clinic with a suspected TIA, having had a similar thing happen when I was 29.
In addition, I don't want to return to the days of ending up in A and E, feeling like I'm having, and with my ECGs looking like I'm having a heart attack, nor do I want to need further meds for my blood pressure, or get osteoporosis.
I need to get well in terms of the ED, because 'you are what you eat' is so very true.
With that in mind, I'm disappearing from blog land for however long it takes.
Thank you to the handful of you who've commented over recent months.
Do what you need to in order to get well, Scarlet. I'll miss your posts, take care of yourself xx. Sooze
