Positives #31 Just what I needed

I cooked on Saturday when my elder daughter and son in law visited us at the caravan. It probably wasn't the best idea I've ever had as I became stressed by the time I finished... I am very out of practice at cooking, and the low B12 levels affect the part of my brain that allows me to work out where to put things. A multi component meal was a really bad idea!

There's a lack of worktop space at the caravan, particularly when plating up a meal with numerous components, and I didn't have a  slotted spoon for serving up the vegetables.

For a cobbled together mock roast ( sausages, not a roasted meat, and frozen Yorkshire puddings rather than homemade), something I haven't cooked for months as I rarely cook anything these days, it turned out ok, and everyone enjoyed it.

I was also short of a gravy boat, and had to 'do a Denise' of the Royle family and use a plastic jug. Oh the shame!!! 😂

That was remedied on Monday as I found this in the charity shop...

It was a fast find this time. Sometimes, they're just waiting for you straight away. Other times they're carried around on the mental list that cant be spoken about for fear of jinxing things!
That's just how it is when your first port of call is secondhand.

If I ever cook a roast type dinner at the caravan again, I now have a nice gravy boat to use. Decades old and for the price of 50p. Perfect.

    1. Thanks Joan. She was very glad of it, and also enjoyed the carrots cake shed asked for, though I baked that at home and took it with us.
