Positives #43 Plant to plate

We were greeted by lots of ripe tomatoes when we arrived at the caravan yesterday afternoon

I picked all of them and they filled a large bowl

I ate some for my dinner, with 2 light Babybels and 2 slices of ham. I'll roast some with garlic, herbs and balsamic glaze and we'll have them for dinner today with some spaghetti and parmesan

I walked for an hour this morning, a lot of it along the beach, and I've done over 8,000 steps ( 3.15 miles for me)

I really struggled getting up the steps when crossing the railway bridge into town this morning, and could barely move after sitting down for a coffee, but there won't be many more beach walks before the season ends.

Laying the flooring, and the bending, stretching and squatting involved in painting hasn't helped either but I think some of the pain is dietary. I haven't fasted as much this week, and I've eaten sugar, which makes me crave more sugar and makes fasting difficult. What a vicious circle. Food really is my enemy in so many ways.

I'll be back to it with a vengeance once I've eaten my dinner today. Black, sugar free, decaf coffee, water, and electrolytes for at least 20 hours a day makes life much simpler and less painful for me, so if that's what it takes, that's what I'll do.

  1. The tomatoes are beautiful and delicious. You worked so hard d- I can't get up and down with ease so you laying the floor is incredible to me.

  2. We grew cherry toms at our caravan too, we used to share them with our lovely next door van neighbours, they grew very well there. That's made me feel nostalgic about our van and neighbours Charlie & Jean, they were the nicest neighbours we've ever had, anywhere. Walking on sand is hard so well done on all those steps. xx

  3. Our greenhouse tomatoes were disappointing this year, maybe it was just too hot? Yours look delicious!
