The 3rd one

Firstly, many thanks for comments on my last post. They mean a lot.

This is the third post I've written this week. The others are in drafts. Will this remain there too? I have such little confidence about things these days.

Last week was busy with childcare ( the childminder is off for Christmas), and shopping for my mum, which wasn't ideal as I've felt terrible since the last time I went to the allotment a couple of weeks ago... I overdid things there.

Yesterday I made sausagemeat, onion and herb stuffing balls, sausage rolls, and some mincemeat parcels with the last bit of pastry. I open froze them and they're now bagged up in the freezer ready for Thursday. I might eat some, I might not... things haven't been good over the last week and I've lost quite a lot of weight. It is what it is. I enjoyed being on my own in the kitchen.

There was a bit of creativity last week, potato printing to make cards for the little one to send...they even mixed the colours, knowing what to use to make green and orange as we only have blue, yellow, red and white paints. Watching Colourblocks together and talking about the colour wheel and mixing colours has paid off.

Their school application has gone in and we're keeping our fingers crossed.

I'm not sure if I'll post over Christmas, though I do have some stools I revamped recently to show. They were a bargain, I used stuff I had, and they've made a big difference in the kitchen.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you all have the Christmas you want.

  1. Clever, little one. I love those prints and anyone receiving will have a gift. Your treats for Thursday sound terrific. I'm doing my Oreo tomorrow for both Wednesday night and Thursday meals. I'm not feeling like going anywhere but I will because it's expected.

    1. That was supposed to say "prep" not Oreo. My mind and fingers both are not working well.

    2. They've now started to spell out simple 3 letter words.' c a t ' spells cat. That's right isn't it mummy' they said earlier this week. They can also do simple addition. It's amazing to see! I'm a proud, if worn out, grandma!

    1. I think next year we'll really have the Christmas we want. Other people may be upset, but it's time.
