I often hear someone say, 'I'm not a real runner.' We are all runners, some just run faster than others. I never met a fake runner.

We went out for a walk along the seafront on Sunday evening. I was wearing the trainers I bought last year, specifically for going walking in.
I decided to try having a run, as I miss it so much. I used to run 4 miles 3 times a week, and cycle between 50 and 100 miles a week. When I couldn't run anymore, I swapped to using a gym 4 or 5 times a week. Eventually I had to stop that too, and at times I was lucky to be able to get out for a walk.
On Sunday I ran!!
No breathlessness, so I must be fitter than I think.
No achey legs on Monday morning.
No post exertion malaise.
I'm not fast, and it wasnt very far, but I did it, and it made me happy.

Step one, move. Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteThanks SAM. It felt good to do it.
DeleteFocus on what makes you happy - well done!
ReplyDeleteThanks Joan. I'm trying to put myself a bit closer to the top of the pile than I usually do.
