I had my implant consultation last week and it will be fitted this week. The dental surgeon was lovely, putting me at ease, listening to my concerns about the procedure after the horror show of my dental surgery at the end of December.
He had a look at the images after the 3d scan and announced that it will be more complicated to remove what's left of my tooth, because I have an extra root on it.
How unlucky am I with the roots of my teeth? The one removed last year had 2 roots curving along my gums rather than going straight upwards, and the one that did go upwards had grown into my sinus cavity.
Now I have an extra root on this tooth, and he's going to have to split what's left of the tooth to get it out, just like the one in December.
I'm supposed to be going on my sister in law to be's hen do on Saturday, but if I get there, I'll have a mouthful of stitches, and antibiotics in my bag... it will be the 6th course I've taken this year.

Scarlet I was sorry to hear that your next round of dental treatment is going to be more complicated than you hoped. I hope you can manage to keep the pain under control, and that the antibiotics act quickly. If ever anyone could do without the additional trauma it is you, you have so much to contend with already. I’m glad your caravan visit was so successful at the weekend, and the changes you have made there look fantastic. I’ve always thought you were very good at putting colours and patterns together. ReplyDeleteThanks Maggie. It seems that the dental surgeon my dentist referred me to is a genius! His reviews were excellent, and he lived up to them... highly skilled enough to mean that although the extraction wasn't straightforward, and it did have to be drilled into pieces, it was a completely different experience to that in December, something I was incredibly grateful for.
DeleteOur weekend was just what we needed as it was just the 2 of us and an escape from the toddler tantrums!
