Beautiful Bodnant Gardens, resplendent in the sunshine.
It's almost 2 years since our last visit, when the laburnum arch was just going over. Yesterday, it was glorious, but only a few of the roses in the garden had bloomed. We'll return next month to see those as we rejoined the National Trust a few days ago.
The shady parts of the garden are like my back garden but on a much larger scale, with many of the same plants.
I watched the gardeners at work and thought how much I would have liked to work in such a place.
Updated to say that I didn't open the purse to pay for our NT membership. I opted to pay monthly by direct debit ( no charge for spreading the cost), and the first instalment isn't payable until next month. We took a packed lunch and some water and didn't spend any money.
Bodnant looks right up my street! We're NT members- we used to get the family membership so that it covered the grandchildren but now get it for just myself & husband at the cheaper rate offered to the over 60s - I was unaware of this until I read it somewhere. You just have to have been a member for the previous 3 years. I think ours was about £96 for the year, or £9.25 a month (which we pay).
ReplyDeleteIt has been stunningly beautiful both times we've visited. We had a membership for a number of years when our daughters were young and made good use of it. We decided that we will easily get our money's worth even if we only visit Bodnant and things close to home.
DeleteAlways enjoy our visits to Bodnant gardens Scarlet, we are only a forty minute or so drive away and seeing how the gardens change through the seasons is always a delight.
ReplyDeleteOur caravan is a similar distance away, so I'm very much looking forward to visiting at different times of the year. Even though the car park was heaving we still found ourselves alone quite a lot. It was blissful!
DeleteI'm very much looking forward to beautiful NT properties on my visit.
