We went out for a few hours on Friday night. J had seen that there was a band on at a pub that we like, and he wanted to go. I was less keen as I was settled for the evening, but I got ready in record time and off we went.
They played stuff from our youth, so we were reminiscing and wondering where the years have gone. I was 16 then and still at school. Now I'm 60 and feel weighed down with worry, caring for others and life in general.
I had 2 soda waters as I was both driving and fasting, but it was another unexpectedly lovely time... a bit like last week's sea swim.
I'm approaching 20 hours of my latest fast, and I felt ready for the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs that will break it, but the hunger has worn off, so I'm going to leave it longer.
Plans for this week...
- 2 medical appointments with mum
- Shopping for mum
- A hair cut
- Paint all the woodwork in the toilet room
- Deep clean my bedroom
- Finish sorting through my clothes and take them to the charity shop
- A coffee in peace at my new favourite cafe
I wonder how much other than the appointments and shopping will be ticked off by the end of the week?

That's a busy week, I hope you can tick off that quiet coffee in your favourite cafe.
ReplyDeleteThanks Joan. I managed it today, but am frazzled after this afternoon's appointment.
DeleteI'm with Joan
ReplyDeleteI hope you get your coffee and toast.. The night out sounds like a good break.
Thanks SAM. The night out, and tge peaceful coffee were lively. Unfortunately I now feel like running away.
DeleteOne minute you are a teen and then in a blink of an eye you're in your 60's, it's crazy!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree Gill. I really don't know where time has gone.
