We've been to Gretna for our handfasting anniversary and stopped off en route there to have a stroll round the gardens at Sizergh Castle. We're members of the National Trust so it didn't cost us anything on the day.
Just before we left Gretna this morning I had a phone call from the waiting list department... my operation is scheduled to take place in a couple of weeks, subject to all being okay at my pre-op appointment, and no cancellation.
I'm not looking forward to it, as the consultant warned me that things will be much worse before they are better.

Lovely memories for you both. At least the consultant warned you in advance, so you know what to expect. Here's hoping it all goes to plan. I'll be thinking of you xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Sooze. I had the call about my pre-op appointment this morning. I was offered Friday or Sunday, so I'll be going on Friday, which is my birthday, rather than Sunday as we'll have visitors!
DeleteWhat lovely photos. I am glad you had a good trip and good weather?
ReplyDeleteIt’s great news that you are getting the surgery sooner rather than later ? Hopefully you will be all better to enjoy your new life. I am awaiting a new hip but I hope it doesn’t happen till the autumn as I am desperate to get back to my allotment as it wakes up after winter. It’s all laid out in no dig beds and I have help with any heavy lifting etc . As I live in sheltered accommodation with only communal grounds I treat my allotment ,only five minutes walk away , as my garden .
I expect you will have some plants to care for at your new residence? Keep safe and best wishes Debbie 😊
Thanks Debbie. The weather was good for the majority of the time, which we were grateful for. I'm hoping that I will recover more quickly than I did after the tooth was removed; the trauma of it sparked a CFS crash which took a long time to recover from. We have a garden area at the caravan and created a raised bed last year. We have planted it up and fitted a couple of tomato plants in there aswell last year which did really well. We're going to take some currant bushes and rhubarb from our allotment, and some other plants in large pots. I hope your operation comes at the right time for you!
DeleteHope all goes well with the pre op and you stay safe from any viruses. Going to take time to get better with everything else you have going on.
DeleteGlad you will have some gardening to do at your caravan . It’s very good therapy! X
Keeping you in my thoughts that all goes well and you're recovering soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks S. The pre-op appointment is on Friday. I just need to avoid any viruses before the op.
DeleteBest wishes for a speedy recovery
ReplyDeleteThanks Joan. I really hope I can get back to some kind of normality.
DeleteAt least you haven't been left stuck on a waiting list for months. I hope the operation goes well and your recovery speedy. Xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Gill. I'm very grateful that he kept his word about trying to get it done asap.
